Some nights stay with you forever, and our very first Trime UK fundraising event is one of them.
Held to honour Albania’s Independence Day and to bring our growing community together, this event marked a milestone moment in Trime’s journey. What began just three months earlier as a podcast rooted in truth-telling and cultural resistance, blossomed into a powerful, real-life gathering of Albanian women from across the UK.
To be completely honest, we were nervous. As founders, we wondered: What if no one shows up? But what actually happened left us speechless, not only did people show up, we had to bring in extra seats mid-event because the room was overflowing.
The energy in the room was electric, filled with laughter, tears, hugs, dancing, storytelling, and sisterhood. It wasn’t just an event; it was a collective affirmation of why we started Trime in the first place.
We were honoured to be joined by two inspiring guest speakers, Enida Myftari and Eriona Bajrakurtaj, whose words of empowerment resonated deeply with every woman in the room. Their presence reminded us that Albanian women are brilliant, bold, and breaking barriers, and that together, we are unstoppable.
And of course, no Albanian gathering is complete without music that moves the soul. The Albanian drums and DJ brought us right back to our roots, and when the dancing started, it was as if the walls themselves were celebrating with us.
This night was a reminder that Trime is so much more than a podcast. It’s a movement. A community. A safe space. It’s a place where stories are held with care, where our culture is honoured, and where women are seen in all their fullness, not just as survivors, but as leaders, artists, and change makers.
We are deeply grateful to every single person who came, shared, danced, cried, and believed in what we are building. You made this night unforgettable.
And to my co-founder, Lejla Dauti, thank you for being the heart of this movement with me. I wouldn’t want to do this with anyone else.
Here’s to many more moments like this.
Here’s to Trime.
Here’s to all of you.
